2016 Focus: Profitability, Growth & Retention

The GM Minority Dealer Development Program was established in 1972 to increase the number of minority dealers in the GM portfolio. It was the first of its kind in the industry, and remains the benchmark for other OEMs throughout the U.S.

For more than 40 years, MDD has remained committed to developing, placing and retaining successful minority owners in the GM dealer network. It is yet another example of GM’s ongoing commitment to diversity throughout its retail operations as a business imperative.

At the core of MDD is providing tools to help dealers increase profitability, growth and retention. That means putting customers at the center of everything we do; it is the hallmark of our customer-driven culture.

The MDD has evolved in a number of ways since we began, but our business priorities remain constant. In 2016, the MDD leadership is focused on:

  • Creating a more profitable Fixed Operations business—a heightened priority because of its significant impact to the bottom line;
  • Increasing profitability and operational effectiveness through our NCM 20 Groups.

The MDD is committed to being a catalyst for growth and prosperity for every minority-owned GM dealership. We encourage all minority dealers to take advantage of the resources we’ve created for improving your business operations at every level.
