What is a MDD 20 Group?
A.
It is a group of GM minority dealer peers from non-competing markets who discuss their businesses, in detail, with the express intent of improving their sales and net profits. This group is about changing your score, not keeping score.

Why is GM supporting the MDD 20 Group program?
A.
Recognizing that business owners and operators need to have resource options available to them as they work to improve their businesses, GM believes this program is one to fill your needs. General Motors makes available various tools and programs to assist minority dealers successfully operate a GM dealership while helping to retain a more dynamic and successful dealer portfolio.

Why is GM MDD financially supporting the MDD 20 Group program?
A.
It has been proven that these forums help increase the profitability of their Members. GM understands that stronger business entities are good for you and for them. Currently, MDD 20 Group dealers are trending more profitable than dealers who do not belong to a MDD 20 Group.
Q.
How will a MDD 20 Group benefit my operation?
A.
Everyone benefits from the overview of their financial data and operational information. Open discussions of best practices are shared and taken home to be implemented. You have access to a specially designed monthly financial composite comparing your operation with that of your group. These allow you to compare, in detail, every facet of your operation with some of the top business operators in the country. This is a score changing, not a score keeping program! In addition, as a MDD 20 Group Member, you have real time access to a variety of NCM Benchmark@ reports available to you in easy to access online formats and a venue to communicate with your Group Members 24/7.

How often do these groups meet?
A.
Live meetings, organized by GM, are held twice (2) per year, at approximately six (6) month intervals. GM MDD is responsible for notifying 20 Group Members of live meetings. The first meeting is held prior to the National Automobile Dealers Association (NADA) convention in the city of the convention. In the summer (usually early-mid August), the Members convene for their second meeting at the location of the GM Dealer Development Summer Business Meeting. Members register for live meetings via a website provided by GM MDD. Members must be willing and able to maintain regular attendance at the scheduled meetings.

Who decides what is discussed in the meetings?
A.
Professional NCM Moderators facilitate the meetings, and Members build the agenda with topics that are relevant and important to them. Generally, groups have their elected chair persons work with MDD and their NCM group moderator to create the meeting agenda.

How do Members communicate between meetings?
A.
NCM provides Members with a secure group website and secure email listserv.
Q.
What costs am I responsible for as a new MDD 20 Group Member?
A.
There currently is no MDD 20 Group Membership fee, compliments of GM MDD. The only expenses incurred by the Members are travel, hotel and incidental expenses associated with the live meetings.

What do I need to do to join a group?
A.
Complete an Member Enrollment form and fax it or e-mail it to one of contacts listed. Contingent on your 20 Group Members’ approval, you will be added to a Group. A representative from NCM will contact you with instructions on how to authorize your data so it can be added to the group composite and to familiarize you with the tools and resources available to you as a MDD 20 Group Member.
